I figured it is getting about the time to put up that thread I promised a while back about the upcoming races at Cedar Falls Raceway on July 1st.

The gates open at the track at 8:00pm and the track itself opens for practice runs around 9.  Practice runs end around 12-12:30 and that is when the eliminations began.  Most people got 3-4 practice runs last time, then however far you can get in eliminations.  I was done by about 2am last time and that was after 2 rounds of eliminations.  It is fun being able to see what your car can do.  The cost is $20 to race and $10 to spectate.

I would really like to get a good showing of Scions out there.  A lot of people were interested in my car the last time I was there and for many, it was the first time they had seen one up close.  If we got a good number of us there, we could really promote the club.  It would be a lot of fun to see an xB make some runs down the track.  If you are worried about having a "slow" car, don't.  There were a couple of cars racing last time in the high 17's to low 18's.  Bracket racing is about consistancy anyway.

Even if you don't want to race, it is a very fun thing to do on a saturday night and they have a pretty nice racing facility.  Think of how much you would spend on going to a movie.  After you pay for the tickets and snacks, that's your $10 right there. If we get enough people, we could all park together and put up the banner if the president allows and have our own "camp".  Who's with me!

I'd like to get my 91 SE-R out on the road. Maybe I can do some convincing.

Couple things:

Tony, you have the wrong Cedar-town in the subject line.

Also, I mentioned at the last club meet that people could put up tents in the yard at my new place to spend the night if they wished. Well, now I've moved into the new spot and upon further investigation, what I thought was my yard is actually the neighbor's yard. I have practically no yard. Two tents would completely cover it, and it's not very flat anyway. If we don't have a ton of people up, I have a couch and a good amount of floor that folks can crash on. Not ideal, but it's something if anyone wants to avoid driving home at 3 am.

I'll definitely come out, to watch at least... maybe race... we'll see!

So I guess that makes it:

"Who dosen't want to sponsor a high performance echo!"

Man this weekend was a blast even though I didn't feel well. We need to do stuff more offten guys.

As far as this week at the track goes I will not be racing but i will do a run down the track. I need Greg Alex or Cisco to run the track with me. Im thinking roll up flip on all the lights and cruise down the track.
