Alright, so I got pulled over again tonight. Yet another window tint ticket, and yet another warning for not having my license plate on the front of the car. I immediately took the tint off, as I cannot afford to pay another $70 ticket. Let me tell you, taking off tint yourself is actually kind of an idiotic idea. I managed to peel it all off, but then over 50% of the glue stuck to the window, so I spent over 2 hours scrubbing it off the 2 front windows with goo gone. My car smells like an orange now...

Anyhow, long story short. How do I mount the license plate on the XB without drilling into the bumper, or can I?

You can go to the store and get 2 metal L brackets you would have to drill them in under the edge of the bottom grill indent - then the other edge would attach to the plate. For a show just unscrew the bracket. For tint removal they have stuff called tint-off, It works well just use that and a new clean razor takes about 10 minutes.

These guys sell them. A little cheesy for the price but it's all there and no drilling.

A lot of people either use that or simply go to Home Depot and get some long bolts, some nuts, and washers and mount the plate to their front grille that way.  It shouldn't cost you more than 3-4 dollars.  I haven't been pulled over for not running a front plate yet (knocks on wood), but if I do, I plan to use one of those two solutions.

ya i used the 2 long bolts on mine.  i picked up like 3 different lenghted bolts.....some washers and some nuts and experimented on the mounting and eventually got to where i liked it.  and it can be easily taken off somewhat....unless you drove all the way to chicago in blistering heat and have to reach your arm down by the extremely hot radiator...ouch!

Alex made the bracket I have on mine, its just like the 808 customs guys, and there was a diy on Scionlife as well  Not sure its still there or not though..

not a good pic, but you get the idea, it goes through the honeycomb on the bottom grill.. no drilling into your car required..

Um, I'm 90% sure I still have some of the aluminum bar that I made Roy's with.  Everything else came from Lowes.  If you need the aluminum, let me know.

Mines a lot like Roy's but I made two vert. mounts (one off of each bolt).  That way you wont have to worry about it bending.
