We're down for the Wii.

I have no desire for the PS3 since the GTA series is no longer a Sony exclusive from what I have heard.

The PS3 also offers no Ninja training.  The Wii comes with nunchucks so I assume it does.

This guy is also getting a Wii for similar reasons:

I know my roommate is getting both.  Hes getting the PS3 to sell within the first week though, and waiting 3-4 months to buy it for himself.  Hes gonna use the Wii to keep himself occupied till then.   I cant wait to play the Wii.   The Wimote and nunchuck combo is gonna kick ass!    Cool    Im a nintendo kid at heart, having had regular NES, top loader NES, super, 64, gameboy pocket, virtual boy, and then playing Cube for days on end.    I probably wont buy the Wii myself, kinda like I didnt get a cube, ill just play my roommates  Cheesy

When those two come out, I will be buying a PS2.  When the XBox 360 was announced, the original XBoxes dropped in price.  The PS2's haven't dropped in price yet, but I am hoping they do once the PS3 hits.  Saves a lot of money in the long run.  Buying a system for $100 that was originally several hundred and buying games for $20 that were originally around fifty.  The console gaming technology isn't so great that I am missing a lot by getting a console that is a few years old.  I can take the money I save and put it into my car.  However, I would rather have a Wii than a PS3.

Tony, I completely agree with you. Since we just got an xbox, we'll be set for a while, but if I were to buy one of those to systems I'd be looking at the Wii, I'm gonna watch the PS2s myself as well, if they drop significantly I'll pick one up, I want guitar Hero!!

Everyone in the dorms is in love with Guitar Hero.  I dont understand the obsession.   :?    Im not bad or anything, but not good.   I just dont get how it can be so entertaining.

Also, anyone who wants to throwdown in Mario 1, 2, or 3, for NES can challenge me for any amount of money you want.  Speed trials.    Im not talkin about emulated (like on the famous Mario Bros 3 video).   Legit play, I will challenge anyone.    Cheesy

I like the Guitar Hero for the music and the opportunity to translate my air guitar skills into said music without having to develop any kind of real "talent".  Yeah.

Here's what I don't get about it.  At S3 I had a freakin' ton of kids wanting to play the game.  I mean they were like 10 and under.  Those kids were freakin' rockin' out and there's NO WAY they knew most of those songs or had any connection whatsoever to them.  Maybe great guitar rock really does transcend the generational gap.

Target: Gen Z aquired!

I'd be all about a speed trial for the original super mario brothers. I'm game for that.....what sucks is my NES is broken. Just quit working like 2 months ago. my remotes wont funtion.

I would probably suck with a D-pad.  I saved up ALL my money for several months and bought a NES Advantage controller very soon after I got the system.  I played it so much that the spring in the joystick wore out and it defauted to the down position instead of neutral.

There was an art to tuning those turbo buttons too.

Hey, maybe we should do a retro gaming night or something this winter.  We could dig up some NES consoles, a PSX, a Genesis, and some others and all dress the part too.  I know you all have a pair of ripped jeans and a Slayer shirt lying around!

Yeah, good but dangerous.  I played it WAY too much when I first got the game.  After about a week I hopped in the car to go somewhere (IRL).  I was sitting at a stop sign at the end of my block and a cop rolled by.  I had the DISTINCT URGE to mash the throttle and head in the opposite direction.  I even think my foot twitched.

Yeah, I took a break for a while after that.]

Don't even start me on the story of what I did when I played too much GTA...

So, retro gaming night sounds favorable, huh?
