Scion of Des Moines in conjunction with Des Moines Scikotics will be having a weekend of all that is Scion. We will be having a Scion only car show on Historic Court Avenue. We will be having the car show on July 28th 2007 during "515 Alive, Des Moines Urban Music and Arts Festival." This festival has grown from 1,000 to over 10,000 people in less than 5 years. This year will feature over 75 music performers on 9 stages, traveling freak show, graffiti artists, break dancers, and t-shirt artists.

We will be working out a different group for judging and will have an overall people's choice winner. You don't have to have the most tricked out Scion to win. No cost to any Scion owner or passengers coming in a Scion. Everyone in your crew will get VIP passes for the event.

Scion of Des Moines will also unveil our new show car. The "Juice Box" will be retired and the Rado wide body kit Turbonetics turbo powered Scion tC will be unmasked and for all to view.

The following day, July 29th, will be an "All Import Car Show" held at Toyota & Scion of Des Moines from 11am to 3pm. All are welcome and there will be some special prizes handed out.

I hit 515 Alive a couple of years ago and it was quite good.  In fact, my car was there (even though it wasn't mine at the time):



Phat Joe's got a little damage from an over-enthusiastic performet, but otherwise it was a good time.  It also marked the first time I had seen a real "street dance-off" since Michael Jackson's Beat It video...

Does anybody have times for the car show and such on Saturday.  That's the last Saturday of the month and I won't be able to get it off, but I'll join in on Sunday at the dealership.

Roy, guess we'll do the Quad Cities thing the week before!

Not sure when exactly the show will start, most likely around noon, give or take 2 hours.  I will post up the time when I get that info from Dan.

And Gered, this event is in July.  You have plenty of time to move.  haha

I remember that event. I had a great time down there. I remember Joe's car getting damaged but that wasn't really setup for a car show at the time. It was just kinda parked out where people could see what it was. This show has a designated parking area so you don't have to worry about having your rear bumper stepped on so people can see the DJ compitition.

The show on the 28th starts at 6ish in the evening.  It will be a nighttime show since that is when everything will be going on at the festival. 

The show on the 29th starts at 11am.

I don;t think ill be showing up on sat 6ish because friend of mine is celebrating 5y anniversary ( have to go) but 29th i am ok with that ! any roll calls from dsm ( joke)

Congrats to the members of ScinergyIA and Scikotics for their great showing both Saturday night and Sunday!

I know Steve did well on Saturday but I don't remember the exact award.  The rest was popular vote so...

Anyway, at the JUDGED show on Sunday our members and friends really cleaned up.  Ben took Best Rims, Dave took 2nd place in ICE, I took 3rd Best in Show, Steve took Best ICE, and CASS TOOK BEST IN SHOW!!!  Feel the power of the Yaris baby!

I was extremely proud of the members of ScinergyIA.  Three of us there, three trophies.  Also, three of the cleanest cars on that lot! 

I'm really looking forward to this coming weekend in CR and having a great showing there too.
