After having my HD Projector in my home theater for 2 years I finally got my HD DVD player.  For some people it's a toss up between Blu Ray and HD DVD...  for me, no question... My HD DVD player was only $99.  The cheapest Blu Ray player (the cheapest PS3) is still $399.  So if anyone feels like coming over and watching movies some time just lemme know... Excellent sound, 120 inch screen, high def... mmmmmm delicious...  Transformers is awesome in HD!

I'm just starting to look around for a decent digital TV. LoL I'm dreding when the analog signals die out.

Yeah that's going to be interesting.  Most of the over the air HD receivers have an analog output converter, at least to component cables which most tvs from the last 5 years have.

I'd say at this point stay away from plasmas, they get insane-o hot and most of the first and second gen ones are having burn in issues... I'm on the side of projectors, they're awesomely cost efficient if you don't have the tv on all the time, but if you do you really want a more standard television since replacing bulbs can get quite expensive...

DLP and LCD tvs are probably the best bet overall and there are some pretty reasonable ones out there.  Just put some good research in and you'll do fine.
