Well it was a bit more than $50...

Anyway, the lights now work!  I just did as Aaron suggested and unplugged the radio (and the goofy glovebox lamp too which looked a bit dodgy) and the fuse no longer pops!  So, now I need to find a goofy GM radio I guess.  Preferably a cassette.  I'll look around here and see what is hanging about.

Also, this is a G20 van, meaning it is a 3/4 ton.  Apparently that means it's a 4 bolt main 350 (throttle body injected) with (possibly) a steel crank.  Hell, that's worth the purchase price right there and then a little.

Hopefully I can get the interior cleaned up in the next few days and then I'll get some more pics up.  Otherwise you can all see it on SATURDAY!!!

Was it an aftermarket radio in it? if so, just make sure its grounded properly and not through the illumination circuit. the wiring is as follows..
POWER
12Vconstant - Orange
12V switched (ignition) - Yellow (one of 2 yellow wires)
Ground- Black (possibly 1 of 2)
SPEAKERS
RF+ Grey
RF- Tan (possibly 1 of 2)
LF+ Lt. Green
LF- Dk Green
LR + Brown (possibly 1 of 2)
LR - Yellow ( 1 of 2, the other will be the 12V switched wire)
RR + DK Blue
RR - LT Blue
Cap off all unused wires, and double check the speaker wires with a AA battery by touching the speaker wires to the + and - terminals of the battery and you'll hear the speaker "pop". I may have the Lefts and Rights backwards, but, I know those are the right "pairings". Check the power wires with a meter, but again I know those are the correct colors for the factory wiring. Call me if you need help, or a radio for that matter... I have a couple old CD decks I need to sell....

Well, it was a GM radio, but its hard to label anything in that van as "factory" because of the conversion, you know?  It's weird, like buying something that somebody else modded already.

I'll probably see if I can find another GM deck lying around to fit that hole and I'd really like to stick with a cassette just from a nostalga standpoint.  This Spring I'll probably work out exactly what it will get for sound, I may go nuts, maybe not though.

Thanks a ton for the help man!

No, this was just something that fell into my lap.  It's not really all that practical for winter driving since the tranny slips pretty bad when it's cold (and it doesn't warm up very quickly...).

The winter ride is a 1986 Cutlass Supreme, but I need to get my butt out to Colorado to get it!

This weather is NOT helping...
