It's Coming, The All Scion Show 5.0! But who knows when?! It's a mystery! It is obviously sometime in late may b/c Alex would never miss his official 6 month notice postings!

So what's the dealio? Asylum already has 96 people signed up for 08 and it's not until June 7th!

(just giving you all a hard time, I wanted to post up some info on the OZ.net site and was looking for info to post up.)

I know I asked Alex last time we were in person, but alas we had many many gifts from the Mojito gods . . .

Yeah, it's most likely the 16th-18th of May and I won't be posting up an official sign up sheet until darn close to the event itself (probably around the 2 month mark).

I'll be getting with Danny Wilson today and the announcement will be very soon.

For Nick and anybody else that really wants to make a flier for the show here is the information we must have on the announcement:

Bill is working up something as well but I really like yours Nick.  Slap the rest of the info on there somewhere and we'll use it in promoting the show too.

I had 5 or 6 different fliers last year and I think it helped.  We'll make up some business card fliers again too, I think they worked very well.

There will be a couple of shows prior to ours this year and it is extremely important that we have some representation at those shows and promote our own.

Our tentative plan is to have the show on the Wilson's newly paved back lot this year.  There is a gigantic pad of asphalt behind the body shop now and it is perfect for our purposes.  Additionally, it can be seen from HWY 30 and we won't have people driving through our show back there.  Lots of good space for vendors and tents and such.  We should be able to hang the banners on the side of the body shop too which would be awesome.

I'm going to start thinking about the cruise now.  Not sure where we will go, but I think we will try to loop back to Ames again.  That seemed to work very well last year.

Also, here is my tentative idea for awards/classes:

*Best xA/xD 1st, 2nd, 3rd
*Best 2004-2006.5 xB 1st, 2nd, 3rd

As always, our show will be JUDGED.  I am open to suggestions for judges.  We need a minimum of 2 judges for the whole show but I would like 3.  Obviously Jason is out this year (too bad) because he will be SHOWING!  Perhaps we can talk Brett into it again though.  In addition to him I was thinking about asking a couple of the Scion Champions from the KC area to judge.  They know the cars well enough and the ones I'm thinking of are affiliated with other clubs so it would lend some extra legitimacy to the judging.  Shoot me ideas.  Ideas that won't cost us an arm and a leg please!

Okay, I'm going to change the title of this thread too.  We'll label it the "planning" thread and keep the "announcement" thread nice and clean.

I'll judge if you want. I've got a gravel box that will be bone stock durring the show......unless someone wants to give me some bling. I'm not objecting to that.

alex i'd be wililng to judge.  with finals and me moving the car wont be making much progress and thus i wont be showing in its half completed state.  (like last year)  Lemme know

I like the idea of using other scion champions, it would also be a way for them to push for people from the clubs their affiliated with to come.  I will help out as needed, where needed, there's a good chance we won't be camping this year, as much fun as that was, we might be able to stay just up the street from Alex.  so will be closer to the show, translates into Alex I won't show up late this year....
