Have you ever run your box at the strip?  I am curious what it runs.  I am planning on doing a lot more racing next summer and it would be fun to have more Scions representing.  I do a little drag racing at Cedar Falls, plan to do some road racing at Mid American Motorplex, and a lot of Autocrossing with DMVR and Iowa regions around Des Moines and Waterloo.  I agree with what was said above about keeping racing on the track and off the streets.

umm to be honest i just moved here from seattle area and i havent ran on a track but i know its not that fast yet! Umm i just bought my turbo kit online through Cxracing.com i paid 1600+ Shipping once i get that i have to build my motor a little! Even though it says i dont have to, i want to just to be safe. But yeah we always raced on the streets out there, its alot more fun that way. But yeah man i wanna check out your Scion! you ever downtown?

I think it is a lot more fun racing when you get actual times so you can compare your skills to everyone elses and have hard numbers to back it up, but that's just me.  Plus, safety is stressed on the track and I don't have to worry about other cars when I am racing.

What sort of horsepower numbers are you looking at getting?  I am assuming 300+ if you are planning on building your engine.  I haven't heard of CXRacing before.  I'll have to check them out.  Should be interesting to see how your project comes together.

Hey Tony, be sure to hit me up for a track day or two next year.  I'm hoping to have my new toy bolted to the engine by Spring so I can actually have some sub 17 second runs!!  Wink

I know Nick was doing some 1/8th mile stuff, but I can't remember where.  Maybe we can do that too, although I'm much more used to 1/4 mile.

Also, I wonder if Mark is going to autocross/time attack his new xB.  He should chime in eventually.  I wouldn't mind giving that a go either.  It has been a long time since I've been on a competitive track with a car, and never one with doors!!

And Alex, I'd definitely like to see what your box will run once you get your "power added" on.  You should be able to break 17 seconds easily.

I used to race motorcycles on 1/8 mile, but in my opinion, it isn't enough for a street car.  I like the quarter mile runs better.

This summer, I got addicted to autocrossing.  Drag racing shows how fast your car is, autocrossing shows how good of a driver you are.  Plus, it translates to real world skills and helps you to learn more about your car.

Of course, I'd love to hit MAM and really let my car stretch its legs.  I would love to take it on a true road course.

I've been thinking for a while.  If I could get us a track for a day is there enough interest to hold an event?

I'm sure there are 100 obstacles, but I'll start a thread about it if a few guys reply here.

Think there was discussion or a thread about going down there at one time but it sizzled out.  Would have to look way back but I remember it being brought up.

Id just be scared of breaking my box....otherwise I'd do it. If I had a supercharger, I'd be on it in a heartbeat.
