I've been out of the picture for a few months due to family issues.. mainly because i had another child and had to work more to keep the bills paid.. the other day i caught wind of an issue that was brought to the table in the socal chapter of which i am a member of. one of the "members" has brought up the idea of turning SCINERGY into an all toyota club. my take on this idea is simply NO WAY!! this club started the scion club scene . everything that has become of this scene started right here in socal with SCINERGY and has spread like the plague nationwide to all of you. this club has prided itself on being the first free nationwide scion club ever. and yet we still remain the tip of the spear. all the other clubs look to us for inspiration and leadership. As far as opeing our doors to all toyota, i can't see any benefit to us. this socal member is lookin for more numbers in our club... why do we need that!!! when did this club become about numbers. when did we lose focus on what this was all started for? I joined SCINERGY to be involved with a group of individuals that were interested in these "UGLY" toaster cars as much as i was. I joined to be welcomed by a family enriched environment in which i would want to bring my kids around and my wife! I didn't join this club to have to deal with people throwing a wrench into the works and then sliding around trying to recruit people to his ideas. This club or shall i say this family doesn't need or want the numbers!! we have always said that we don't have the numbers but we have the quality!! and that IS what makes us the leaders in this scene. thats what makes us unique... our love for scions not our love for the matrix or the other toyota cars.



IF THIS CLUB IN A WHOLE DECIDES TO ALLOW THIS CHANGE THEN SO BE IT !!
IT WAS A CLUB DECISION BUT DON'T LET THE THOUGHTS AND IDEAS OF ONE MAN BE YOURS BECAUSE YOU DON'T HAVE THE STONES TO SAY SO!!!

IN CONCLUSION : If this club does decide to allow this i will be resigning my membership with the club and remain non-club affiliated for scinergy is my family!!

I'm sorry for the rantings but i feel the rest of the club should be involved in this decision not just our chapter.

I'm all about an all Toyota club, but I don't think Scinergy should be it... If he wants to start a nationwide Toyota club, I say go for it, I'm sure many Scinergy members would be interested in joining that club as well...

I think a club that large would really defeat the purpose of closeness that a club represents. I think there would be WAY TOO MUCH variety. How would you even be able to keep everyone together. The Truck guys wouldn't want anything to do with the young car guys. There would be to much internal conflict.

After looking on the ie boards this line of thought doesn't seem to have much support. Specially from the Georgia crowd. I'll keep an eye omit but I don't think we have much to worry about.

Um, we actually have a provision in our club rules for our Toyota brothers.  This simply isn't an issue for our chapter and really shouldn't be an issue for the nationwide club either.

As always, everybody is welcome to attend our meets and events unless specified otherwise (which has never happened).
