Gas Tank TSB?

Is there a TSB for the gas tank on the xB? I was reading something about it on SL and thought I could get a faster response here.


While we're on the topic, are there any other TSB's that we should know about or get done?

mine turns clicks off most of the time.  I usually have to hold the handle the whole time the tank is filling to get it full.  I've found that there are 1 or two places in town that don't have those protector things on them, and I don't have any problems with them.

Also on ScionLife I've seen this discussed but never seen anything about a tsb.

I'll check it out, but remember, a TSB (Toyota Service Bulletin) is NOT the same thing as a Campaign (aka Recall).  This gets confused all the time.  A Campaign is where there is a known problem with every vehicle (usually a safety issue of some sort).  In that case every owner gets a letter in the mail and you bring the car in to get it fixed.  To my knowledge there has yet to be a Scion Campaign of any kind.  A Bulletin is basically a formal bit of advice from Toyota for your dealership.  These are generally along the lines of "if your customer is complaining of this, then do this.  If you find this, replace this."  As far as I know, there isn't one about the filler tube on the xB, but I'll check on Monday.  I really haven't had lots of problems with this myself (once or twice at stations out of town), but I've heard the complaint from several people.

I'm generally only ale to use the first click of the filler or it turns off.  It's not a real big deal when the tank is so small anyway.

Introduction

Some customers with the 2004-2005 model year scion xA and xB vehicles may experience difficulty adding fuel to their vehicles. An improved fuel tank and fuel tank filler inlet pipe have been developed to correct this situation.

Applicable Vehicles
2004-2005 model year Scion xA and xB vehicles preduced BEFORE the production change effective VINs shown.

Applicable warranty
This repair is covered under the Toyota Fedral Emissions Warranty. This Warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.

If you are having this problem, call me or him with your VIN and we'll see if the bulletin applies.  We both have copies of the bulletin now and know what to do.

i kinda figure out the way for my fuel  ok normaly on other cars you would push the thing into the HOLE  :oops: "dont think dirty now! lol"  and then fuel it full right?

by scion how i do it as he/she likes

i put the thingy almost half INTO the hole and start fuel

My tC does this too.  Any tC owners experiencing the same thing?

Nothing on the tC so far.
Call Toyota customer Service, at least they will know there might be an issue there as well. If you don't say anything, Toyota will not know there is a problem and nothing will be done.

Is this still in effect?

I hadn't been having much trouble with it, but we moved and the nearest gas station I have a hard time with, sometimes if I get the nozzle set right it will fill, sometimes not.
